Bespoke Crowns and Veneers (restorations) are made from a material called LAVA™ Â ZIRCONIA. They are then coloured by the artistry of dental technicians to match your existing teeth’s colour and translucency.
Lava zirconia is a state-of-the-art material for CAD / CAM produced zirconia restorations. The benefits of the zirconia material are its outstanding strength, state-of-the-art aesthetics as well as excellent marginal fit. (Where it meets the gum line).
CAD/CAM technology had made it possible to prepare restorations out of high strength ceramics like alumina and zirconia. Previously,
ceramic restorations in the posterior region were limited to single units.
Now with the introduction of zirconia as a dental material, clinicians are able to place all ceramic restorations in the anterior and posterior regions. This is due in part to the high flexural strength (almost two times higher compared to alumina) and high fracture toughness of the zirconia ceramic material.
